In almost all cases of a computer virus infection, the computer virus enters the local area network from the internet and infects the workstations. The infection and infestation of the locally networked computers has three common spreading mediums, which SOLO Gateway deals with:

• > Emails - SOLO Gateway scans all emails hosted in it, either incoming or outgoing.
• > Websites - The proxy server incorporated within SOLO Gateway has integrated virus scanning against infected files downloaded from websites.
• > Local File Sharing - The File Server scans all files stored in SOLO Gateway, so that infected files stored there are quarantined, preventing the virus from spreading.

The Antivirus engine that is used in SOLO Gateway (ClamAV) is royalty-free and is updated constantly with the latest virus-signatures.
